Swiss Society for Religious Studies SSRS/SGR
The Swiss Society for Religious Studies (SGR) was founded in 1977 to bring together those working in religious studies at universities, as well people with an interest in religious studies. It promotes research on religions and religious practice. The SGR organises conferences, supports relevant publications and junior researchers, and publishes the “CULTuREL” series. The SGR is a member of International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR), the European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR) and the Swiss Academy for Humanities and Social Sciences.
The bulletin for the association of Swiss university lecturers (36/2010) provides a good insight into the history of and current developments in Swiss religious studies.
