The twelfth edition of the Iberian Conference on African Studies on “African responses to the decolonial dilemma” has opened their call for panels. The congress will take place at the University of Barcelona on January 29, 30, and 31, 2025. The congress invites to explore the African role in the constitution of a global society that can only be inclusive and real id it assumes diversity. The “decolonial dilemma” highlights the difficulties arising from the dominance of the “Western component” in the management of difference. In this sense, the long experience of African cultural pluralism is an essential asset to facilitate coexistence and mutual enrichment based on the multiple memories and dynamics that converge in globalization.
Panel proposals related to any field of African Studies, beyond the conference theme, will be accepted. Submission deadline is 15. May 2024.
